Homebuyer Education Program
NHSOKC is dedicated to
increasing the quality and quantity of
homeowners in Oklahoma by providing on-going training and
counseling regarding all aspects of purchasing a home.
Attending an NHSOKC Home
Buyer Program is the first step for anyone interested in
purchasing a home. Sessions are held each month
in the NHSOKC office at
1320 Classen Drive.
Because of the popularity
of these sessions, please contact the NHSOKC office as soon
as possible for a schedule of times and dates at (405)
231-4663.
Following the Home Buyer
Program Class you will meet with a counselor to develop a
plan of action.
Through participation in
the NHSOKC Home Buyer Class, you will gain knowledge in the
following areas related to home ownership:
- The relationship
between your employment and income and your ability to
purchase a home.
- How to budget and gain
control of your personal money management.
- The role your personal
credit history plays.
- How to overcome bad
credit and create good credit.
- How to successfully
find the right home for you and your family.
- How to successfully
finance a home purchase.
- How to inspect a home
prior to purchase.
- Work with a Real
Estate Agent.
- General home
maintenance, repair, and safety.
Graduates who have
regularly attended the seminars will also have the support
of the NHSOKC staff in finding financing through NHSOKC or
other local lending institutions. We will support any
potential homeowner with one-on-one counseling throughout
the entire process of buying a home.
